How you can help

There are several ways in which you can help the animals of Corfu, so we have built a whole page explaining the many was you can help us.

Donate - you can help the Agni Animal Welfare Fund by making a straight forward donation through the website using the button above. You can donate any amount you wish (using your credit card) and we will use the money together with other donations as we think best at the time.

Some people have shown a preference to which animals they wish to support if you have a preference simply state which animals you would like your donation to go to in the additional options box on the donation form.

We would also be grateful for donations such as dog collars and leads (good strong substantial ones) flea collars, (not for cats - as being strays they can get caught) ) Drontal worming tablets, for cats and dogs, towels and blankets, and chew toys etc.

If you prefer to make your donation whilst on your holiday in Corfu you can leave donations or any of the items mentioned above at the Agni Travel Office, Agni Taverna, or the Sweet Beauty shop in Kassiopi. One other way to help us whilst on holiday is not to feed the cats in your accommodation but place food in an outside area, inform us where the cats are and donate the money to us instead and we will see that the cats are fed ALL YEAR.

Shop on Line - you can now help us raise funds without any costs to yourselves by joining iB-LONG's shopping on line website. This is an excellent way to raise funds for us just by purchasing your goods online from shops you probably already use like Amazon, M&S, CD Wow, Car Insurance, and many other well known high street names. Click on either logo above or below for further information. Join iB-LONG and raise money for the Agni Animal Welfare Fund charity.

Sponsor a Cat -
the sponsor a cat option arose from the neutered cats at Agni bay. You can sponsor a cat by making a donation of £50 to neuter a stray cat. This includes the neutering fee, post op medication, worming tablet and some food which will be given to anyone helping with the feeding during the winter time. You can chose a name for your cat and we will send you some photographs and email you some details. There is an option to state this preference on the donation form.

We will post photographs of the cats that can be sponsored from time to time on the Sponsored Cat page. So if you are interested in sponsoring a cat keep an eye on their page.

Sponsor a Dog
- the sponsor a dog scheme is a little different from the cat sponsoring scheme. There are many stray dogs on the Island some are lucky and manage to get into a dog rescue centre and after being neutered and vaccinated are moved to re-homing centres in Europe where they are found permanent new homes.

However not all of the dogs are suitable for re homing and some are kept in the centre as their permanent home, they often have medical problems, disabilities or are quite old. These are the dogs that you can sponsor, to cover feeding and medical expenses etc.  Anyone sponsoring a dog will be given details of the dog, with photographs and kept informed regularly of its progress. We can arrange for you to visit your dog when you visit Corfu and apart from taking him home he would be your dog.

The subscription to sponsor a dog for one year would need to be a approximately £150 but any amount would help and anyone can make a monthly donation. So if you are interested in sponsoring a dog keep an eye on their page and we will post from time to time dogs in need of sponsors.

Sponsor a Donkey - if you would prefer to make a donation towards helping a donkey you can do so using the donate button and stating that your preference is for the donkeys. If you would like to sponsor a donkey please visit Corfu Donkey Rescue on their own website where you will find details. www.corfu-donkeys.com

Accompany a Dog to Germany - If you are coming on holiday from Germany, or intend driving home from Corfu via Germany then you could accompany a dog on its way to a new life,  by air or by road. By air you are only required to accompany the dog, someone will meet you on arrival at the airport. If you are driving, you can take a dog with you and deliver the dog to the given destination. If you would like further advice or would like to discuss driving a dog to Germany please contact the AAWF.

Taking a dog on the aircraft is a very simple matter. You will be met at Corfu airport on your return journey by the animal rescue volunteers who will go with you to check the dog in and then hand you its papers for you to take on board. When you arrive, you will collect the dog in its box, and go through to the arrivals where you will be met by the volunteers in Germany. If you would like to undertake such a commitment please contact us or German travellers may like to contact Uta Engelhardt, visit her website at www.tierhilfe-korfu.de where you will find her contact details.

Volunteers - we also would like to hear from anyone living in Corfu, or people who spend long lengths of time on the Island especially during the winter months who would like to help. We need people to put food out for the cats at feeding areas during the winter months and to help with aftercare when a cat has been neutered. Fosterers for dogs and puppies are needed whilst they are waiting for a place in the rescue centre. We would like to hear from anyone who could help, so please contact us by email at info@agni-animal-welfare.com
